Math Teacher – Full Time

This full-time teaching position offers the opportunity to work with highly talented colleagues and motivated students in a collaborative and supportive educational environment. Teaching assignments may include Algebra, Geometry, Statistics, Trigonometry, and Calculus, depending on the candidate’s background and content strengths.


Essential Responsibilities


Design and deliver engaging, rigorous instruction across various levels of high school Mathematics

Create meaningful, hands-on learning experiences, including appropriate demonstrations and applied learning activities

Foster a safe, well-managed classroom environment that supports student risk-taking, intellectual curiosity, and a sense of belonging

Collaborate closely with Mathematics Department colleagues to align curriculum, share best practices, and support continuous program improvement

Provide academic support to students through extra help sessions and timely, constructive feedback

Build positive, supportive relationships with students and families to promote student growth and well-being

Contribute to our school community by attending and participating in extracurricular activities

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a closely related field

Maine Teaching Certification in Mathematics (7–12) or eligibility to obtain certification

Strong content knowledge across secondary mathematics (e.g., Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, Precalculus; Calculus a plus)

Demonstrated ability to engage and support diverse learners through effective instructional practices

Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills


  • Preferred:

Master’s degree in Mathematics or Education, qualifying the candidate to teach dual-enrollment or college-credit courses

Advanced Placement (AP) teaching experience (e.g., AP Calculus, AP Statistics)

Three or more years of successful high school teaching experience

Experience implementing innovative, real-world–oriented instructional practices that connect theory to practical application

Familiarity with data-informed instructional practices and curriculum design
